“It was in a song by a Mozambican artist that I learned the word melanin. Through this song I learned about the importance of this magical word, that is much more than a word: it is my identity, my story, my motivation.”

Yolanda is very interested in social innovation, leadership, mentorship and community work. She has worked with farmers, displaced persons, teenage girls and university students to ensure nutritional knowledge.

Yolanda Tangune holds a Bachelor’s Degree in agricultural production and she wants to promote a conscious food education through processing and reusing the less consumed local food usually wasted, due to lack of nutritional knowledge.

Yolanda is very interested in social innovation, leadership, mentorship and community work. She has worked with farmers, displaced persons, teenage girls and university students. Besides her passion for conscious nutrition, she seeks inspiration and energy in her roots, so she advocates towards fighting social inequalities, namely racial issues, through storytelling.
