“I decided I wanted to play a bigger role in agriculture in my country that is why now I am following this path in order to be able to apply my knowledge in helping rural communities in Mozambique.”

Vera Guitiche believes food and nutritional safety must be a priority in the economic and social development, and that’s why she’s been devoting her career to the sector, inspired by the hard working, relentless women in rural communities.

Vera Guitiche believes food and nutritional safety must be a priority in the economic and social development, and that’s why she’s been devoting her career to the sector. Namely in the more rural areas of Mozambique. It’s also in these areas that she finds her biggest inspiration and reference! Hard working, relentless women, that even with little resources manage to secure the well being of the family and manage resources in an incredibly smart and creative way.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration and a Master’s Degree in Agriculture and Development by the Reading University, in the United Kingdom, Vera allies her knowledge and experience to embrace projects aiming to improve nutrition in vulnerable communities, empower women and girls and increase the participation in society regarding governmental matters.

Nowadays, she’s working in the World Food Program of the UN, where she’s leading the implementation of programs connected to communication in order to promote behaviors and social change.
