“Changemakers are not aged dependent, nationality or gender dependent, it’s not even about a political matter. A changemaker is an agent of hope, transformation, and someone who has decided to bring change and worry about people around them and emphasize them.”

Denise Matsule is a medical doctor and a social activist for menstrual education and passionate about humanitarian medicine. Denise believes wherever she is, she’s able to generate change.

Denise Matsule is a medical doctor and a social activist for menstrual education and passionate about humanitarian medicine. Denise believes wherever she is, she’s able to generate change but her biggest dream is to contribute towards making the Mozambican health system more democratic, efficient and inclusive.

Besides that, she wants to ensure young teenagers have at their disposal all the tools and resources they need for a good menstrual health, that’s why she created Ngati Yam - a digital platform and a safe space for young women to clarify doubts and questions on menstruation.

It was precisely under that topic that Denise participated as a speaker on TEDXCatólica Lisbon. Denise is a curious and adventurous woman, she’s always seeking new opportunities to learn more and live new experiences.
