If you didn't have the time to listen to the podcast, here are some insights from this conversation.

Education is still the best way to make dreams come true.

Have you ever thought about the dreams you have? Thousands of times, right? In order to make them true, you should start thinking about the future of education: what educational politics should be taken so that you can get to where you want.

The truth is that people cannot live freely or dream without democracy and higher education, that's why: "everything you can do to improve girls' education level is fundamental", because, despite the progress made after the Industrial Revolution, the fact is that gender inequalities remain in our society in what concerns to education and educational politics. Female leadership is fundamental to minimize them.

Education is everywhere. For example, we cannot mention sustainability without mentioning education. Nowadays, there are hydrocarbon explorations all around Mozambique. What could be seen as prosperity is turned into poverty because the local population is dominated by greed, lack of knowledge and cannot sustainably use these resources. Unfortunately, this struggle of interests can lead to another global problem: war.

Another important question is:How is it possible to attain effective peace? There is no one better than a Global Peace Prize Winner (in 2012) to tell you which are the four steps you should take to be a peace promoter:

  • Be aware that, as Spinoza said: “peace is not the absence of war, it is a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice”. Peace is related to dialogue. You should try to promote more dialogues, instead of nonsense discussions.

  • Use social networks to reach young people's hearts, to bring people together, and lead them to speak up about injustices and social problems.

  • Use your voice and leadership skills to raise awareness wherever you are. Use accurate communication that includes simple words, numbers and measures that were taken (in this pandemic scenario, for example) so everything can be easier to understand.

  • Help other people. Do voluntary work in hospitals, nursing homes, in your neighborhood, or wherever you find people who need your help.
"People usually categorize other people when what matters is that we are all human beings apart from our social condition" and we can all work together to attain global peace and protect democracy.

In conclusion, you can follow these steps to make a difference. Don’t forget that, wherever you live, you are also responsible for what is happening around the world. "We can do anything we want to, combining global governance with our daily actions in our local communities and knowledge. The truth is that "knowledge is power and school is the place where you can work hard to reach your goals".

Listen to this episode and discover how you can start promoting peace using your voice and knowledge.
